Weekend Reflections #60: Drop Anchor!

The guy on the right has just dropped anchor in hopes of reeling in a big one, maybe two. Don't expect it will be too long before he'll be saying Anchor's Aweigh! Question for music lovers and old timers: Do you remember who was in the 1945 film Anchors Aweigh? I just saw a clip of it in one of Michael Feinstein's musical histories. Anchors Aweigh is also the fight song for the US Naval Academy and, of course, a part of the US Navy. More Weekend Reflections at Newtown Area Photo and the Weekend Reflections' meme.

Terrific reflections, Michael, and like Sunny, I hope the big one doesn't get away before he "anchors aweigh"! Oh, Lord, I hadn't thought of that movie in years! How fun! Enjoy your weekend!

The only question is... Did they get some fish, at the end ? :D

Nice reflection, anyway. It quite amazing that your were able to take the picture just before the waves from the drop of the anchor disturbed the water...

How about that great singer Frank Sinatra and that great dancer and singer Gene Kelly. I grew up on musicals. My Mum took me to the movies to see everyone of them. Nice shot of the guys fishing!

Beautiful action shot with a water reflection! Andy called it but I would add Kathryn Grayson as well.

Bon weekend!

Stunningly clear reflection and great composition. Would have liked to see a reflection of a fish, though :-)
